  I and Î

Etymology: Eretiǹgrai I, from the same letter in Mižinai.

The 26th letter of the T́uliǹgrai alphabet is a vowel. Like all vowels, it's short, and has two aspects, called "broad" and "narrow".

The broad aspect of this vowel is pronounced like the short I in Latin or the I in Spanish, and its name is i (informal) and eiretai (formal).

The narrow aspect is pronounced like the I in English words like bid, fib, hit, or ship. Its name is î or i kapeol (informal), or eîretai or eiretai kapeol (formal).
